Here is an example of my learning:  I did a fish with yellow and blue squares









Next time I will make bigger squares because it will be easier to finish.

 I learned to say my Mihi

Here are some sentences

 I achieved my goal because I know how to say my age and my friend.

 Next time I will say my mihi without looking.

I learned more about Matariki

I achieved my goal because first I only knew that Matariki was 7 stars now know 15 things about Matariki.

Next time I will make a inference about Matariki

ANZAC Writing

WALT write a narrative

I learned that a narrative is a fake story.

I achieved my goal because it was hard to get ideas.

Next time I will work harder.


One night a loyal dog called jack was fast asleep.
A blue bird woke jack up.
Jack raced after the blue bird.

Cross Country

WALT run 1.5km for the Cross Country

I learned that it was hard and a long run but I got through it by keeping on going.

I achieved my goal because I completed the Cross Country.

Next time I will jog at the start and run at the start.

Compost - topic

WALT: recognise and understand the process used to construct a compost

We can do this when:

  • we participate in discussions about compost
  • explain how compost is constructed
  • explain why we use compost and its benefits

We were very lucky that Mr McCaven showed us the grass clippings that will eventually turn into compost. We learned that the grass clippings will get warm and decompose and then they will help the school gardens grow.





Music

WALT - sing the new school song.

Success criteria: Sing using the correct words and attempt to use the correct pitch.

Room 2 sang this beautifully, they used the correct volume and some of them hit some good notes whilst singing.  Keep on practicing room 2 and we could even get some of the moves into the song.-- 

Shapes

WALT:  create different shapes from a model with play dough.

Success criteria:


  • We can do this when our shape looks like or similar to the model we follow
  • We can do this when we can talk about what shape we created
  • We can do this when we can describe what our shape looks like





Writing - Character descriptions

WALT: write a character description

Success criteria:

  • use interesting words to make a picture in the reader's mind.
  • write about what the person looks like
  • write about what the person does (actions)
  • Write about what kind of person they are (personality)











Planting Potatoes

WALT:  plant and take care of potatoes.

We can do this when:


  • Get a suitable bucket to plant our potato in
  • Plant the potato seed in the right amount of soil
  • Water our potato on a regular basis
  • Take our bucket out of class everyday to sit in the sun
